I feel like this community ship would be peaceful. They spend their days and nights sailing the seas and following after the migrating fish. But do have to avoid another group of people who often raid --

other ships for supplies and women.

Possibly trading with other peaceful community ships. Keeping an ear out for rumours about raiders and the like as they do.

and of course, they also have to deal with other things such as extreme weather and having to grow plants on the ship

there's not a whole lot of earth around on the planet so they have to grow it in on the ship
