A large city near a wide river that seems to never truly sleep. No matter the time of day there is always something open for the inhabitants of this city. The people are a mix of humans and the supernatural creatures that have revealed themselves over twenty years ago. This is the first city in the world that has both humans and the supernatural living freely. Supernatural beings from all over the world have congregated here for a better life.

However, not all is peaceful inside this city. While the government has acknowledged the supernatural as free citizens with all of the rights of humans, some humans are wary and have banned them from not just businesses but also from renting a place to live. The police and military have attempted to prevent this but they can't change prejudice hearts.

A city far beneath the one under the sun, this one only allows supernatural beings to walk the streets though the occasional human who dabbles in magic does make their way down here. Inside this city is where supernatural creatures can get any items that they may need or simply escape the human world. Including a business that provides information on the surface world such as which businesses allow the supernatural inside or ones that are anti-supernatural.

Twenty-two years ago the King of the dragons, the Queen of the fairies and the Prince of the elves approached the human government and revealed the existence of the supernatural to them. Not just these three races but everything humans had only dreamed up (and then some) had lived alongside the humans since before humanity's existence. The three representatives spoke of peace between the two worlds and how they wished for a treaty to make it possible for them to live in the same cities. After nearly ten years of negotiations, a pact was made along with a plan to integrate the supernatural into an established city. Another two years passed before this was accomplished although it resulted in thousands of humans moving away out of fear.

For the last ten years humans and supernaturals have shared the city in relative peace. A great deal of the children have accepted this as their normal life while many adults on both sides are still wary - waiting for the other to break the treaty.

« anti-supernatural groups

Out of fear and animosity, the city has spawned many groups that have outwardly shown violence towards the supernatural beings. No one has been able to completely put a stop to these groups as when one is shut down, another pops up in its place. These groups work in secret, never revealing their identities but they have been a collection from prominent businessmen to street thugs. Some merely harass the home of a supernatural being or family, from spray-painting their walls to breaking windows. Others are more violent and will hunt out a supernatural, capturing them and then using violence against them. Many supernaturals have died this way as they are reluctant to use their abilities against the humans or because the group has discovered a way to prevent them from using them in defense.

HISTORY: One would think that being born as the nineteenth son out of twenty-five that he would be often be forgotten by his parents, especially considering that he also has twelve sisters and his father is the king of all dragons. Yet that is not the case at all. Many of his elder brothers have left their family home long ago - some of his siblings have even started families of their own which makes it that much easier for his father to devote some amount of time to him. Currently he is the eldest son still living at home but has three older sisters who he also lives with. Being the eldest son at home means that their father has plenty of time to instruct him... or in his case, discipline his wild behavior.

In between being harassed by his older sisters, he has his six younger brothers and three younger sisters constantly hanging off of him whenever he's home which is exactly why he often sneaks out to roam around the city. This large family lives in a luxurious home beneath the city and is constantly surrounded by multiple guards, making it near impossible for him to make any friends his own age. He even has private tutors that come to the home to instruct him in not only his schooling but also on etiquette. It's not unusual to hear that he's disappeared from the grounds and managed to slip past the guards to escape his lessons.

While his mother is kind but strict in her dealings with him, his father is far more strict and is often the one who deals out his punishment. He's spent a great deal of time scrubbing the home's marble floors or being forbidden from leaving the underground city. His father has even forbidden him from cutting his hair which only makes him more rebellious towards his parent. Recently his father has agreed to let him attend a school on the surface though he has yet to actually start. Except he's not allowed to go alone, his father has instructed that he take his younger twin sister along.

PERSONALITY:

ABILITIES: Shifting, can turn into a huge dark blue Western dragon with silver eyes (still small in comparison to other dragons). Breathing fire, flight (in both forms), hovering/slowing descent (human form) escaping, fighting (hand-to-hand, swords, dragon), longevity (can live to be 10,000 barring accident)

SPECIES ATTRIBUTES: Dragons typically mate for life and most only choose other dragons for a mate.

HISTORY: Practicing magic out in the open doesn't really get you or your kids much in the way of respect. Unfortunately, this was a lesson Zinnia's parents took a long time to learn... and really, hadn't learned in time. The practice had led to Zinnia's mother becoming the victim of an unfortunate... "accident". While Zinnia's father became a little more closed off about his magic, that didn't stop Zinnia, her two younger sisters, and her younger brother from becoming targets of ridicule from the neighborhood kids.

Zinnia's grown up fighting off any would-be bullies, and making sure her siblings were cared for, giving her a rough-and-tumble, but still caring and kind personality. What her father and siblings don't know is that she's made off with a couple of her mother's magic books and has been studying them herself--with what little free time she has.

ABILITIES: Decent street brawler, would probably have a knack for magic if she actually tried her hand at it.
